Write-up - Lost in Space

I have often found myself imagining what good fun it would be to pass along the details of the run start not just once but twice and leave out the MTR exit both times. Then just sit back and watch the frazzled hashers come in as they finally figure it out. Most frazzled award goes to Freebie who arrived at A after frantically making a hasty tour of Chai Wan and arriving at A with 25 seconds to spare.

What a great day, it’s a holiday and a 69 run hared by Luvs 69, A to B and B is for beach. A well organised Go-Go van provides seamless transport of our bags to B. So off we go.....

Initially we head toward the cemetery but that’s not going to work as today is a holiday grave sweeping day making it almost logistically impossible. So some clever checks keep the pack together and have us going through Siu Sai Wan where the hash has it’s origins and where LSW #2000 started from.

Going up the front runners did their thing and I was with Duty Free and Toilet Boy the latter being either exhausted or injured from one of his way to tough races. Running with TB means being responsible for TB as myself and DF twice had to keep him from jumping off a cliff.

We take Cape Collinson Path to a correctional facility and attempt to break in instead of out. This brings us to a trail that I don’t believe that I have done before so I was most happy. It parallels the Leaping Dragon Walk but is much more exciting as it features shiggy and a bit of rock climbing. Now it is TB’s responsibility to look after me and make sure I don’t impale myself into a rock face. Many selfies are taken on the way and TB is making a video complete with narration of the trail.

Trail joins civilisation again at Cape Collinson Road at about the 400 step marker. As TB and myself emerge from the shiggy we astonish a couple whose jaws drop as they said “whaaaa...”TB and I try to convince them what a great trail it is and that they should give it a go. I believe their response was “maybe next time”.

From here it is down the steps to enjoy the Hawaii-esqe scenery as we make our descent into Big Wave Bay B for beach! As we gathered around the little soda water bucket the most heard comment was “perfect!!’

So Big Wave Bay isn’t really Hawaii but it makes for a nice DD venue and TB brightened things up with his shockingly pink flip-flops.

At about this moment Screwtop very quietly excuses herself and attempts to make her exit....

Returnees

- Slutovic, Has a coveted HK QMAS talent scheme visa.

- Slut Entrails, both returnees from Amsterdam and we are most thrilled to have them back.

- Sticky Sex Toy, no apparent reason.

Virgin

- Tijana, from Serbia, is an architect and is a friend of the “slut” family.

At about this moment Screwtop quietly returns to the circle. Her escape plans being thwarted by an impossibly long mini-bus queue of holiday makers returning to the big city.

Lost in Space to Toilet Boy - Making a video complete with narration in an attempt to make my scribing redundant.

Slutovic to Screwtop - Tried to make an escape but couldn’t.

And the most embarrassing down-down goes to me from the tag team of Indy and Screwtop for being challenged in trolly operations during escalators first dropping an entire bucket of ice on an escalator during a rush hour commute and then destroying Indy’s trolly during an escalator entry. Should I be renamed Trolly-Dolly??

Luvs 69 gives a solo performance of our hash song and then we all join in. On-On to the nice beachside sort of restaurant for nice food as we complete our 69 with a very happy ending!!

But wait! There’s more.

What happened to our time management challenged hasher? We knew Gobi-Lo and Rebs where running late but they should be here by now. Messages go out, hashers are worried. But whew they are nice and safe and ended up on a lesser hash trail in Shau Kei Wan.
