Write-up - Lost in Translation

To help Hopeless with jetlag, we opted for an LSW run (nothing to do with the run count & that ding on the fridge) instead of feet up with nice wine & a movie.

As Hopeless, Freebee, Foot Fetish & I discuss the new start location for LSW, a lovely garden area at the back of HK Tennis club, our hare, Comes up the Rear, arrives just after 7pm covered head to toe in flour, shaking his head saying 'you guys are so early'... like 12 mins early!!

As the hashers start to trickle in, I introduce myself, like 4 times, to newbie, 'Duty Free' who smirks, eventually understanding the 'Lost in Translation' name. Then another newbie / virgin, Andy (not Indy, one Indy is enough ~ again Lost in Translation) introduces himself as Lubricated Mud's friend & was super excited for his first hash. Eventually CUTR calls for the briefing, long winded as it was, we set off at 7.20pm with Minja Turtle off like a rat up a drain pipe.

The trail took us across Wong Nai Chung Gap Road & straight into the shiggy with Hopeless leading us over all the branches & fallen trees, only to stumble upon a T. Regular HK hashers, MT, Hopeless, Sticky Sex Toy & I knew it was only going one way after this.. UP! And boy did we go UP.. for 1.25km, a vertical, steep, shiggy climb, with the use of ropes to help us (to be fair breathing apparatus would have been more helpful than the ropes). The only thing that kept me sane, was Minja's chalked profanity all the way up - oh how I laughed so thank you MT for the graffiti ~ even though you confused some of the hashers (haha).

Eventually a pack of tired hashers, myself, Sticky Sex Toy, Hopeless, Duty Free, Freebee & Foot Fetish caught our breaths at the top, admired the awesome views, took some selfies & started the steep descent down, having to constantly watch our feet on the tricky steps with huge nails sticking out. The only check before the split took us straight down to Black's Link to the split. Wimps going left and Rambo's going right, along Black's Link then left onto the contour trail & downhill to the catchwater. After a long run along the CW & onto Shouson Hill Road, then down AGAIN, just above Spider Alley (as some of us know it as). Then back to Shouson Hill Rd & onto the long, long set of steps, that all the Rambo's enjoyed so much & then onto the rejoin. A quick run back down Wong Nai Chung Gap Road to A.

Challenging start to the run, well marked & great views. A lot of effort by our hare on a very hot day so thank you, much appreciated.

As it was too late too bash, Hopeless circles us up at A
