Kowloon Park aka the "Darkside" run

Last week's run details by the beautiful hares was to meet inside Kowloon Park nearby the famous Kowloon public "Poop Pool area". I believe it's the biggest public pool in Hong Kong.

I arrived at TST MTR station in a middle of the rush hour chaos. The last time I was in the area was when I used to work there in 2019! Protest period / Pre covid era... so I was a bit excited to go back and explore my old hood.

As I was coming up the steps to Kowloon Park, Gobi Lo just run past me and said "Hi" and swooshed off she goes. I was too busy looking at the run detail chats in the LSW WhatsApp grp that I missed the "A" meeting spot. Following Pole Dancer's instruction (with photo) saying "cross over the bridge by the pool, which I did... that's when my luck started to go downhill. I was already lost. Pinged the hare and BMT asked me to head back to Nathan road. Being the last one to arrived and no companion to run with, off I go hoping that the early starters have already solved the checks.

Out Kowloon Park, we turned left and crossed the road at the busy intersection between Austin and Nathan Road. Heard "On on" from the other hare, Screwtop, carrying drinks for the thirsty hashers coming back after the run.

Run continued along Austin Road up to Chatham Road and we hit the first "CB". Found the true trail behind Cox's Road Children Playground. From Jordan Road we headed up to Queen Elizabeth Hospital and up past Kings Park playground. Not sure if the hares had some premonitions about the passing of the Queen... RIP Queen Elizabeth... that they took us around the area to pay tribute to the Queen in advance!

Who would have thought that in an urban area that the hares would be able to find a "mini shiggy" trail?! Good work hares! I crossed the shiggy/bushy area by myself freaking out lol! Climbed over the rail, out the bushes with my head torch on, where I startled a guy coming up the steps and he looked at me strangely.

Back on the road again, onto Temple street where all the "Dai Pai Dong" diners busy eating out on the street. Ran past the outdoor Karaoke singers entertaining all the Chinese grandads in the area. From Temple to Shanghai Street then to Canton road where the run took us behind Harbour City along the waterfront. The markings were so great from start until I hit the clock tower... I just kept running along the TST waterfront up to end of Avenue of Stars, and enjoyed the view and light show with music in the background. The only marking I found was a "CB", that's when I knew we had to cross over Salisbury Road. Still no visible markings from the new East waterfront podium garden so I decided to make my own way back to "A".

Overall it was a great run and it was nice to reminisce and visit my old "work" hood. Thank you hares!

Screwtop - will not be making any sourdough for Pole Dancer

Freewheel - we are all hoping that the infamous orange president will be jailed for his mishandling of classified American files

Pipe Rider - providing all the jumbo chalk for next week's run. She knows all about sizes..!

Freebee - when the bash ordering isn't good she blames it on Hopeless but when the bash ordering is good she takes all the credit

Pole Dancer to Foot Fetish - FF remarked to Screwtop how lovely her skirt is, and proceeded to lift it up!
