Write-up - Hopeless

War and Peace is a literary work on history and philosophy by the Russian author Leo Tolstoy and is 1,225 pages long. It is a long read with a complicated plot which was almost outdone by this week's hares' briefing for the trail. In fact, I gave up after paragraph #3 and decided to chance it and head out on trail.

Having had the third Covid vaccination that morning, there was zero intention of doing the Super Rambos. Certainly not at a hares' estimate of 10-11km. As a few words of advice for future trails - setting trail whereby you advise it is "dangerous" in parts and should be completed by 6pm is not really what we are looking for. While "WFH" is the current norm, not many can be skipping off for a weekday afternoon to hash, having to work to 6pm.

The first 1.5km of trail featured three W/R splits. The third one of which involved scaling a wall, over a partially collapsed fence, which proceeded to rip the arse out of my running shorts, now destined for Junk Bay landfill.

Finally, Po Shan Road, 3-way Check, obviously going up the access steps, and then left along the upper boulder trail. Seems the hares HBS & WCK got lost setting trail for the Super Rambos on Sunday as a riverbed had arrows going up and a large Circle-X. So, SR was going to The Peak, and lo and behold at the next junction SR up, vertical, and W/R down the steep steps and right, to Old Peak Road.

Old Peak Road, Peak Tram Terminus (W/R & SR re-join), and heading off around the road to Matilda Hospital, passing Foot Fetish, Luisa and Deborah on the way. Check after the hospital got wrong, hmmm, really? Looks like trespassing millionaire's houses, but, right, up towards 52 Mount Kellet Road... and... no trail. Looks like arrows have been washed out so back towards #60 and an opening in the shiggy... Trail!

So, for Hopeless, NEW TRAIL! Yes, it can happen... up to Mount Kellet, force 10 windy gale at the top, circle round, do the "SR" down and then lollipop back, and then right, back down towards Mount Kellet Road via steep forest shiggy. Trail popped out just above #62 Mount Kellet Road and an old colonial building, before steeper trail down the side of #62 and "Great job!" written on Mount Kellet Road.

To finish off (the Wimps at least), back to The Peak Tram and the #15 bus, Rambos then treated to an additional loop out/back on Lugard.

The hares spent a combined time of over 8 hours setting this trail, a huge effort. My own effort was only about 2 hours for 4 of the 5 W/R splits and no SR - definitely enough with a new batch of BioNTech surging through my veins! Thanks to the hares for gigantic effort and also the Toblerone treats in the early part of the trail.

Down Downs - None!
