Write Up - Gin n Vomit

Clearly the hare (Hopeless) was unperturbed, by choosing to set a run through several graveyards and crematoria immediately following the Chinese New Year... or Lunar New Year as we were corrected by Gobi Lo!

It was a new start location for me, in a garden beside two restored Hakka village houses, now a small museum. The trail set off to the Southwest, heading out the city over a pedestrian bridge, and very soon into the woods around the back of the Chai Wan Muslim Cemetery.

I was the first to set off and was getting all the Checks wrong as I'd never run this area before, none of the early trail was going into the cemeteries as expected, until I arrived at the Chai Wan / Cape Collinson Crematoriums.

Thankfully the crematoriums were deserted (of the living at least) and the only creatures I startled were 2 large pigs on the concrete terraces, hooves clattered off into the distance. It felt more like a war museum with all those old black and white photographs of faces, and I was glad I was doing this in daytime. Metal steps led from the end of the terraces led up into the forest and climbed up through more woods and Checks to Tam Road, at the junction leading to Shek O.

The Rambos was a loop taking us further West, then returning back to Shek O Road to re-join the Wimps. From there, the trail headed down Cape Collinson Road, unexpectedly linking in with a long catchwater high above the graveyards below. Great views and some Checks going up which I thought were unlikely at this stage.

However, we'd not escaped all the graveyards, as the trail turned downwards through the Chinese Permanent Cemetery.... and some not so permanent, as 2 entire terraces had just been dug up!

Next big Check led us, "of curse" past the grave stone carvers shops, (haha) it really was the full graveyard experience, which makes it all the stranger to note that Hopeless billed this as the "Pre Valentines" run, including love heart signs for the hash couples....

The end came quickly, a simple trail back down Lin Shing Road, and back on the "IN- trail" A very enjoyable run and a big turn out of 29, this being the last run before being limited to 2's next week!!

DDs from Gobi Lo and Octopussy

Hopeless - last-minute hare, thank you for stepping in

Hopeless - we never knew he can be such a romantic, leaving chalk-drawn hearts with "LIT" (to which hopeless replied - "Everyone has a dark side!")'

Hopeless - thank for bringing all the new cute boys to the hash, but he should bring new cute girls to the hash too

Gangbanger - shouldn't have taken a 20 min break on trail to "rest"; now she has to rush home to take a conference call

Gangbanger - living up to her hash name and bringing another gang to the hash

Dan - bringing his mates to the hash, following in the footsteps of Gangbanger

Virgin hashers - Countess of Anal Crisco, Chris, Jason, Matt, Deborah, welcome to the hash!

Chris - yet another Chris, the 4th Chris so far... (Aussie Chris)

Let's get all the Chris in the circle - CUTR (Canadian Chris), Foot Fetish standing in for her partner (Swiss Chris), Vincent standing in as lookalike for Horny Butt Stabber (Chinese Chris)

Countess of Anal Crisco - let's say your full name again

Foot Fetish & Junko - all the home bakers in the circle. Did they catch the significance of Countess' name? No... google "Crisco"!

Freebee - abandoning the walking group to run back to A

Wincy & Vincent - went on a hash date, did not run, got excited at the cemetery

Pipe Rider & Winky Twinkie - started the run together but did not finish together. Pipe Rider came back first and told everyone not to say anything...?

Tight Lips - received compliments for her Liz Hurley figure

All the Americans (Countess, Matt, Wincy) and the one Canadian (CUTR) in the circle - turns out that it was a Trump supporter who started the truck driver protest in Canada

CUTR - nice Canadian guy until he starts getting drunk, then he becomes an insufferable PITA

All the Americans (Countess, Matt, Wincy) and the one Chinese national (Deborah) in the circle - gold medalist Eileen Gu switching between both sides...

Junko - With the Winter Olympics set in a dystopian nuclear waste land area, the Japanese should most definitely host the next winter games at Fukushima

Tight Lips - setting next week's run with an actual recce?

Tight Lips - her infamous rope will sadly not make an appearance at next week's run

Wincy and Vincent - crushed that they will not get to use the rope again next week

DDs from the floor:

Winky Twinky to CUTR - now the only one in the hash who is not vaccinated

CUTR to Gobi Lo - has an impressive trail-running CV with all the King of the Hills wins but yet doesn't know how to watch the Winter Olympics

Dan to Matt - for always being late and holding up the gang when he arrived 15 mins late

And to sing the song - Countess, since she likes to sing hash songs that much, next week's hare Tight Lips, Pipe Rider and Winkie.

Down Downs - A "selection"

Hopeless - the hare
CUTR & Octo - Hopeless had to write their valentine message :-)))
CUTR - anti-vaxer, and will be the first to get Covid19..
Global LSW - DDs for all Americans, Aussies, Brits, Chinese, Japanese
