Write Up - Hopeless

It seems Gobi Lo has ambitions of becoming a "Tai Tai" - requesting early start times and arriving an hour before the designated start time even then, so "The Lo" can masquerade at a Mah-jong night. It transpires the marathon mah-jong session that evening was not dissimilar to her run experience.... read on!

The hares picked a good, quiet spot at the top of Grieg Road. Trail options were written out, including a "Super Rambos". Trail out into Quarry Bay Country Park, the lollipop clear as "In Trail" was marked by the steps in flour - which the first boar of the day was busy eating!

Hares had "advised" of the slippery riverbed, so that was a good clue to the first couple of Checks. Occasional LSWer PCT took the advice to avoid this section by looping around on the Mount Park trail to meet the riverbed route as it emerged on the contour path, the Check going right, back towards Mount Parker Road. Then the W/R split.

Wimps stay on the contour to head to Mount Parker Road, Rambos up the old tramway shiggy path to the top of Mount Parker Road / Boa Vista junction. Here the Super Rambos was marked left, i.e. up to the golf ball and back... a 2.5km loop. Again, boar eating the flour markings! Not many took this option, The Gambler Lo went for it, total trail taking 90 minutes for 9.5km. Returnee "Dan Paz" was one, not sure who else took this run extension excursion. All in all, a well-marked trail, and a noticeable "staggered start" as people arrived in dribs and drabs, so no Check marking - not that there were too many Checks.

Down Downs - None but Hopeless passed out Fortune Cookies to one and all. Best wishes for Year of the Tiger! On to an early Valentine's Day Run next week.
