Write-up - Blow My T*ts

I arrived at the start after a fairly long walk from the mtr through the a lovely Tai Hang bar area! Wow, I haven't been here before!

Gobi Lo gives detailed descriptions of the run, choice of Wimps or Super Rambos - well choice of Super Rambos really given that this is strongly recommended. "The rope bit" - "don't be afraid it's not that scary and definitely worth doing". "By the way, I'm a rock climber so I secured the rope properly"!! Phew - that's ok then, but I'm left questioning why a rock climber needs to borrow a rope?? I request chalk to mark the trail but there was non left, Octo having taken the one and only remaining piece!

I set off with JJ and Chris in hot pursuit of Octo, Pipe Rider, Gang Banger and newbie Wincy! Onto the first open check with many options, I go left, JJ goes right and I suggest to Chris he cross the road and check over there. Nothing for me and JJ but Chris looks a little stuck, more wandering than looking for trail I feel. I cross over to help him look and it doesn't take long to find trail - umm Chris needs a little help checking??? Or as we discover later needs to bring his glasses on trail.

Second check is now the infamous washed out check at the base of the stairs, we recall from earlier intel that it goes up the stairs and right. Indeed it does, on into the shiggy we hear faint voices ahead and soon enough we catch the Octo/Pipe Rider group. The shiggy is pretty intense but this is a Gobi Lo run so expecting nothing less and then completely out of the darkness we come to a waterfall and stream. Absolutely stunning, a big waterfall seemingly out of nowhere, amazing!

Now the rock climbing bit with rope assistance, Junko up first then Gang Banger who drops one of her hiking poles into the stream below. Pipe Rider demonstrates how it's done properly, Wincy long legs has no problem either and then Octo showed us how to make it as complicated as possible! She tries with the left leg up first, no that won't work, then the right leg, no that won't work either, then the chalk is thrown into the stream because somehow it has become a hazard - yes, the only piece of chalk available to mark trail and now it's gone! Next, a sort of side sitting/twisting awkwardly and swinging a leg around action that looks impossible but is somehow made to work??? Myself, Foot Fetish and Chris are giggling and horrified at the same time!

Once up on the rocks the shiggy continues - myself, Octo, Pipe Rider and Wincy press ahead passing through the shiggy next to the playground of the apartment blocks on Mount Butler road. "There's people in there" shout children on the playground. Alright little ones, not too loud - we're not strange!! Well, maybe a little??

The trail leads along Mount Butler Road, onto Tai Hang Road and then to the steps by-passing the cemetery and down to Hong Kong Stadium. From there we go back past the lovely Tai Hang bar area and on home.

The hare had written an expletive message on the bridge on Tai Hang Road to send 2021 on its way!! Quite right! So thank you Gobi Lo for a very challenging, fun and memorable last run of the year and to wish in a great 2022!!
