Kowloon, King George V Memorial Park

Hare - Tight Lips

Hashers - Comes Up the Rear, Dogshit, Gobi Lo Ho, Lost in Translation, Octopussy, Winky Twinkie, Teabagger, Tight Lips, Telecum, Hopeless, Pipe Rider, Torched Testicles

Back to basics and old habits it seems..... nothing more dangerous on a hash than Gin n Vomit armed with a MAP! "Recce's are so a thing of the past" quipped the hare, breathing in the Ganga smoke from the main pagoda. Luckily she moved the start point to the smaller pagoda otherwise some other wise words would have been forthcoming....

The Run Briefing was extensive and confusing. "If you run out of trail just keep going as marking white chalk on white surfaces wasn't ideal". "If you get the park/roof/garden (I couldn't work out which), head to B1 - but be aware the security guard wouldn't let me get to B1". Hmmmm, OK..... The briefing was topped off by something about a stairwell, but the shutters had come down on my ability to receive input at that point.

So, back out the park, across Jordan Road and onto Shanghai Street and boxing in/around Temple Street and all its delightful offerings in the stairwells. Through Temple Street Tin Hau Temple and onto the first split. First "ONON" arrow cleverly hidden 80m from the split in the shopping precinct, and a loop round back to Public Square Street.

Yan Cheung Road Park and a Check..... 7 different ways..... Hmmmm, try 5 and yes, up onto the West Kowloon Bus Terminus plaza and right towards the waterfront and on to the Airport Express station and 2nd split. Over the bridge.... First chalk quite a long ways away and, yes, West Kowloon Cultural District and the promenade. At this point "Torched Testicles" shot past, wife Teabagger hot on his heels.... Until.... run out of markings. "Hare said just keep going round till you find chalk".....

Well, that was a challenge, but after 1km of waterfront running, no markings, turn back towards ICC and assume re-join at the split.... YES! Chalk on the pavement, across the roundabout, and right - on to the high speed railway station and "The Skyline". Here Gobi Lo and Lost In Translation enjoyed the "Too Bad" marking and headed back to home. The rest of us seem to have found markings heading to Austin Station and home, via a few "h" arrows. I believe the ladies found part of the W3/R3 split but didn't find their way back to the re-join whereas the rest of us missed it completely.

Much debate from the pack as to where/how the run went. All said and done, some interesting old parts of HK and "million dollar vistas" as Octopussy quipped regarding the view across the harbour. All in all a good trail/evening, thank you GnV!
