LSW 2297 Wednesday 7th October

Wong Chuk Hang

"Enter the coin Dragon" run

Hare - CUTR

Write-up - Poon Tang

Hashers - Octopussy, Indy, Hopeless, LIT, GG (or "the paedophile" as CUTR can't remember his hash name), Minja, TD, ST, Hannah, Hannah's long lost husband, WCK and PT.

A minor alteration between MD and Octo in the WhatsApp group about the run notice, who got it and who hadn't that ended with Hopeless posting a photo of the trail split showing W+R and Pooh - which I thought was a warning about turds on the trail.

Anyway, exiting Wong Chuk Hang MTR Exit, we quickly came upon the picture instruction and started following it but only to be met by Indy heading towards us. Was Indy already on her 10th Vodak, all confused? No, just the one bottle! She met Octo and was told her to do the less hazardous turd run and then started to tell us about the first check. She animated in an Alzheimer fashion about bumping into a small person, mumbled about a midget.. a dwarf... a very small person that don't come to LSW often. We boomed, "Erica" (sorry Erica). "No, it is a small bloke who doesn't come often!" Finally, she said he was from the GayHash. Of course, "Minja", and set off after him

The first Check, turn left as Indy instructed, along Yip Kan Street, a well-marked and generous spread of flour and the arrows led the way. The trail turned off, heading up the waterfall used on last Thursday's family-run. The tattered hell money from that run was still clinging on! Proper Job by Hopeless!

Up we went until we met the Aberdeen Fitness Trail and headed left towards the Aberdeen Reservoir along the Fitness Trail. We continued along it until we came to the Dam crossing. The "OnOn" markings on the post by the Dam crossing suggested we are to cross it. Reaching the other side with no markings, we turned back and found the true trail just off from the Fitness trail. Along and up we went, passed an unlikely rocky Check until we came across a family of wild boars, busy resetting the trail by eating the generous helping of flour CUTR left for them.

Enter the PIGS

I yelled out loud like an Alpha Pig, they parted like the Red Sea, and we made our way up the Hong Kong Trail. It meandered and contoured for ages and ages, as we were hiking and not running until we came across a large splatter of flour – the Pooh Trail perhaps? Cleverly camouflaged under the flour??

The trail continued to a Check Back, we turned back and found the trail that led to Peel Rise, and on to the catch-water section. We then headed downwards after the Check Back leaving the HK Trail behind. Down and down, so many steps and we finally arrived at Tin Wan Street and onto Aberdeen Praya Road/ Tin Wan Praya Road for the final long home stretch.

Stopping at the pier for a view (only managed a few meters past the CB), we didn't make it to the end to fully absorb the sight and smell. Finally headed back along Tin Wan Praya Road and "OnOn" to the 7-11 finish.

CUTR - Good Trail and thank you!
