"Clipped Wings" A to A Run

Hashers that ventured out to Tung Chung - LIT, Hopeless, SLOG, Pipi, Chatroom, Brother A, Gonna

Write-up - LIT

So onto the Horn Run. Just after 5pm, before it got dark and before the black rain storm hit us, SLOG, Hopeless & I set off on a double Rambo, Horn, Tung Chung extravaganza.

Out the 'Gary Glitter park' & down onto the waterfront. A good stretch of the legs & after not running for 6 weeks I was starting to feel the burn alreadies. The earlier rain has washed some of the waterfront markings away which kept us 3 guessing as to which way the trail went but alas we came across the first split.

The Rambo Horn trail took us onto the beach, a scramble over the rocks to another wee beach then up left to the steep rope section. After hauling ourselves to the top, over the hill & down a horrible, knee crunching, slippery drain & out to the hospital.

Scrambling over some scaffolding caused a few cuts & bruises then onto a check where apparently the 3 of missed a very short shiggy section as SLOG found trail on the road. Up & over & back into another shiggy section, more like bush whacking. An interesting section found by The Horns, taking us along a long drain section, totally overgrown then down another steep drain section.

Back out into civilization, along the main road but shortly ran out of markings. The Short one for the Horn family advised us at the beginning of the run "should you get lost, just head for the Novotel"….. easy if you can actually see the Novotel. Fortunately I was with Mr Know-it-all who soon got me back on trail through the park, along the main road (still could not see the Novotel) & back to A.

Back at A, only 2 Horns awaited us with cold beers & some hilarious Oz stories. During the beer time, Gonna (who was 'Gonna' be a hare tonight) phoned the Short one of the Horn family 2 or 3 times as kept losing trail & apparently turned a 7km run into 10km run.

Really enjoyed the varied run, some new trails for me tonight. Thank you Horns!
