Braemar Hill to Victoria Park Hare - Cheesy The peeps - Dame Invader, Tom Turk, Barely Legal, CUTR, Minja Turtle, Dr Evil, DHL, Octo, Indyanus, Macau, Breon's Neighbour, Pig Fokker Headed up Braemar Hill Rd, off road and onto the contour, going east to Sir Cecil's Ride Stream Rest Area junction. Nicely marked left turn for the FRBs to see, until a damn half k down the trail we hit the first of two long ass checkbacks (Thanks Cheesy!). All the way back to the junction, trail found on the right fork, soon jumping off the beaten track to head up the riverbed. Having fun rock and stream hopping up and up, out of the streambed to go up and over with some nice views of HK for the trouble. Coming back down, a different, smaller streambed, but this time we have to run in it cause no real other choice. Out onto Mt Butler Rd, run by the EOD Depot, to another nicely marked spot pointing down the road. Another half k down, wtf another CB for the Rambos, Whimps trail continues down the road. Jogging back cursing those FRBs Dame Invader, CUTR, and Pigfokker for not marking the damn trail. Alright, so now DHL is DFL, reliving the PTSD that I got on run #2234 when I finished trail as the pack was finishing dinner. Real trail had done a little pack f-u to go back up to a contour pathway, heading west a k or so. Drop off the contour to head down some steep loose trail. Back on to Mt Butler Rd but up to Henderson Rd to rejoin with Whimps and head down. A false trail down a 50 foot ladder, Macau Drunk pushed through anyway, Octo played it smart and came back up. Octo and I heading down the damn cool but rehashed trail from Indy and Octo's 2019 Australia Day run (your faithful correspondent's virgin LSW hash!). Watching Octo's amazing contortions as she pole danced her way over some fences, out around the litup HK Stadium. Was enjoying reliving the memories of losing my LSW virginity with Octo so much that we missed a nice wrinkle that took the trail off Hospital Rd. Ran another extra half k down and back, and then finally the finish into Victoria Park. 11km for me on a trail that was advertised as 8.5, and yet still DFL again! Nice to see good turnout on a day with lots of transit disruptions. Dr Evil and Tom Turk in for Trailwalker, unfortunately was canceled earlier in the day but the hash lived on! PS - See Indy, I told you I could string English words together into sentences! Huzzah! Down Downs by Indy The hare - Cheesy Flying Fox...... Fab A - B run from Braemar Hill Park to Victoria Park..... CCF - garnered an excellent turnout for his run despite the fact that all advised by web-sites to 'stay at home'.... let alone a lack of 'normal' MTR transport from anywhere except Island line,..... defied the odds..... Macau Drunk - had earlier posted to yours truly Indy that the award for the lowest numbers of hash attendees on any LSW run went to Sweaty Snail Gobbler with 5 attendees..... on his LSW run with typhoon in town...... CCF - After giving detailed instructions with LSW markings.... stated that FRB's will be 1 hour.... Attendees - 11 brave LSW hashers...... Octopussy / Comes Up the Rear / Macau Drunk / Dr Evil / Pig Fokker / DHL / Dame Invader / Tom Turk / Minja Turtle / Barely Legal / Tim / Indy FRB's Dame Invader / CUTR - DI comes screaming in with CUTR on his tailwind... Racing for the last 500 metres (or more?) from the rugby stadium....... CFF - had been like an expectant father waiting for the first hash head lights to appear.... and yes! After 1 hour 25 mins.... Pig Fokker - soon after, gasping for air and sweating profusely ... 'What a fab run!'..... says he.... DI / CUTR / PF - racing on the hash.. soooo... whatever happened to crossing off the checks and marking the trail? Minja Turtle / Barely Legal - coming in about 5 minutes later..... holding hands and looking as cool as cucumbers??? (Ooops!)... What had they been up to?....... Where had they been?? CUTR - not bringing torch to the run??!!...... Obviously had assumed that with so many red/blue blasting lights from police cars in urban areas / molotophe coctails with luminescent lights... and helicopter lights elsewhere..... that he would not need a torch?........... Returnees - DHL / Dr Evil / Tom Turk / Minja Turtle / Pig Fokker... Welcome back all!! Virgin LSW - Barely Legal..... Great to see you here....... MJ said that she had been so excited about coming to the Little Chai Wan Hash......... err that would be LCWH??? Virgin LSW - Tim.... neighbour of CCF ! Loved the run coming in with TT..... used to run with Tokyo hash 20 years ago..... See you next week ?? 'Locals' so no transport probs - TT - Braemar Hill... MT.... Tin Hau.... Octo... Causeway Bay PF - off to fight his way back to Prince Edward area... apparently MTR's never stop there anymore........ Octo / DHL..... coming in together..... with Octo commenting 'Hey Indy! that trail had part of the Aussie Day run we set... the trail down from the top road above the Rugby 7's stadium....... where we went over the water chasm and I then fell down the ditch into it!! " .. CCF... what was it you said about climbing a gate... when you could go through the hole in the fence.....?? Tom Turk - utterly gutted!..... announces that Oxfam Trailwalker has been cancelled this year.... (although some teams still did it 'unofficially'!!) Dr Evil - had come to HK specifically as part of an OTW support team..... DHL - very kindly (was) 'volunteered' to do the run report! His first one ever!! Thanks DHL..... CCF - 'thanks to all that turned up... had thought I may get a low turn out so could re use that run again!!!... Ha ha ha......'!! CFF - thanks for putting on a great run, enjoyed by all!! And then MTR's called!!...... as for bash....... Octo / CUTR / Indy had great Chinese bash at one of the local HK restos in Causeway Bay ... And as for the song... yes Octo / CUTR / Indy sang it as we left the basho........... 9.13km
