Wong Chuk Hang Hare - Pig Fokker The peeps - Cupid, DHL, Cheesy, CUTR, Emily, LIT, BMT, Hannah x 2, Jonathan, Tight Lips, Hopeless, Burning Lust, Oh Shit, Macau LIT FB photos Firstly thanks to PF for standing in as hare tonight for me but unfortunately for you lot, means another write up by me ! I literally arrived at Wong Chuk Hang a baw hair before 7pm, a sweaty mess attempted to get changed to ensure I did not have to play catch-up. I missed the briefing but I did read the run notice of 80% runners run, 10% shiggy up & 10% shiggy down but we never believe hares, do we? That would like be believing Hannah Montana’s “no shiggy runs”. The Hopeless one kindly waited for me & we took off towards the swimming pool that I did not even know existed then through the creepy boat yard, where fortunately this time there were no rats. Out on to Aberdeen promenade where the pack were milling around as there had been a false call. Hopeless & Macau Drunk found the OnOn over the bridge to the next check. Again these two mature or shall we say experienced hashers found the OnOn easily up towards the pipeline / waterfall. This was awesome as it was there was still enough daylight to have a great view of the full waterfall. I have never seen this so heavy before, was fab ! So up & up we go completing our 10% uphill shiggy, along the contour path to W/R split. With Hopeless now being hop-a-long due to ankle, he opted for W. Myself, No-name-Jonathon, BMT & MD opted for R. Fantastic run along the contour path, over the reservoir then left for more of the 80% running. The next check was a bit confusing with T’s & ?’s marked by Cheesy & BL but eventually HM, NNJ & I found the flour after about 150m. So back to the 80% running bit, really enjoyable, along the catch water until I stumble across Hopeless, Hannah & her virgin pal, Emily coming back from the false trail. True trail took us down to the 10% downhill shiggy, am not gonna lie, I don’t enjoy downhill shiggy but with NNJ helping me through, wasn’t so bad however poor NNJ fell & hurt his hand. OMG there was blood everywhere, would he survive to the finish, did we need air ambulance.. ? Panic stations all round. But he soldiered on to the end where once washed the wound & he had a beer, we knew for sure he would survive the 1 inch paper cut !!!!! Excellent run PF & true to your word on %’s & for a pilot that is pretty good. Excellent cheap Thai food ordered by Hopeless & lots of cold beers !
