For those of you that are familiar with the nursery rhyme ‘The Grand Old Duke of York’ will have a flavor of tonight’s run as our hare march us to the top of the hill and she marched us down again !

The small but elite pack of 9 male & only 1 female hasher met with the extremely relaxed hare, who was actually early, at A in Choi Hung. A very quick briefing of ‘around 7 -8km I hope, but might even be 10km, lovely run but a long climb up with good views but more importantly wine at B’.

The pack stayed relatively together with the checks & check backs set by our hare through Choi Hung, zig sagging on & off Clear Water Bay Road until we hit Fei Ngo Shan Road. The pack spread out with the long, long slog up the hill. With Hopeless doing his own, less hilly run, Pig Fukker kept me company all the way up while silently praying we were not going right to the top, it just felt like we did. However with a check by the hare, the trail took us right, down & down a long cobble path, eventually winding through what the English would call allotments, then out into Ho Chung Village.

Over the bridge, then onto the new road at Hiram’s Highway. So the question was, were we going to Julie’s boudoir for the wine or were we headed to Hebe Yacht Club? No pointing asking Pig Fukker as he had no idea where we were. At the end of the new road near Marina Cove, the arrows pointed left so Hebe to finish, yay ! A long stretch along Hiram’s Highway, myself PF & returnee Crash Test Dummy where happy to see the hare with Hopeless, Cheesy & BL already there and on the grape juice as promised.

Really great run (well I wasn’t actually saying that ascending F’in Fei Ngo Shan), some parts new for me, other parts very familiar but well marked & always a winner to finish at Hebe YC.

Thanks to the hare for great effort tonight, great Italian food, great venue & thanks also for the wine from the hare & BL (or should we be thanking PCT... to be confirmed).
