Having heard the finer details of Pig Fokker’s love life on the back of the minibus on the way to the run, they were going to go on their own walkers trail while the pack was subjected to an A to B run from Siu Sai Wan. SST briefed the pack along with photos from the trail setting, trying to explain some way string was hanging off a post marking the W/R split. Totally unfazed by this vague waving of a phone and explanation the pack wandered off to Tigerx2 to put their bags in for their transportation to B. First problem.. “go right up the steps”….. nope, pack went for the usual steps right in front, rather than the metal steps off to the right. No matter came to same place. Then the usual Check and the usual way left onto the coastal path. Hopeless and sprogs powered on through the T to find the usual trail coming back to the road 500m further along. Seeing as a family of 3 adult and 5 baby boar were grazing here, they decided to sit and watch the wildlife. They got a bit more than they bargained for when three more zoo-like creatures came charging (and sliding) off the steps – Poon Tang, Breon and Burning Lust! The slippery slope was so bad the trio decided to stay longer to warn the next runners of the lethal surface. They waited. And waited. A long time. Seems a combo of Minja & Inflato led the rest of the pack about 300m on “invisible flour”, opening up a huge gap to the front three. Lost In Translation, Ruggero and Crème Brulee gave up on this headless chicken running to find the trail and the waiting Hopeless trio and their warnings at the road junction. The front three, meanwhile, managed to ignore SST’s briefing and somehow ran the Rambos backwards. The next three, seeing confusion, went for the Wimps. Rambos a circuit around Collinson all trails coming together in the Chai Wan graveyard to the run in home, Wimps getting in well before the Rambos and the Hopeless tribe. The small handmade Hellbank made for some difficulty in parts, but latecomers like returnee Denvy all managed to get home in good time at B – Youth Square in Chai Wan. Well done the hares, another miserable wet day for hashing but a great trail and gathering nonetheless.
