After being stung by the weather while setting a run for a much lesser & moaning (&gay) hash, GG was taking no chances for his trail to be washed out tonight. He had more Hellbank money than a Chinese funeral stall, more flour than a baker’s kitchen, more chalk than a Hopeless cupboard, more shredded paper than a primary school (apparently GG banned from primary schools so not sure where he got all this from??) & more ribbon than a dance school… how could we get lost? Oh wait, we are hashers, it’s in our blood!

A small but very elite pack: LIT, Hopeless, Thermal, Parkys, Octo, Indy, CUTR, Bobbledick, Freewheel, Bei, Hannah Montana & Cheesy were greeted by our Geared Up Gary Glitter at the sitting out area of Novotel. After a confident briefing, the pack were off.

After about 1 minute out the park the confusion set in amongst the hashers as ‘the usual way’ was T’d off. This spread us out all over the place but following the hashing rules, I returned back to the last ONON to find a very amused hare, instructing us to ‘check it out guys’. Freewheel – FRB - found shredded paper which took us onto the main road where Indy – FRB– was already way out in front but not long before Cheesy took his usual position of FRB.

The next two Checks kept the pack together mainly as Cheesy picked the wrong way allowing Hannah & Hopeless to FRB on many occasions. The trail took us through Tung Chung old village, following the ‘crab path’ and onto a beautiful sunset over the cable cars.

The next Check brought the pack back together & the trail took us along the main road and over a footbridge to the split but I think some of them missed the massive big W / R – hey, come on, we are hashers !

R trail took us through some small villages & yes some did get lost even with the huge amount of shredded paper (not from primary schools), then up some steps then into the shiggy. As described by the hare, the shiggy was technical & very overgrown. My ‘better’ half decided he would FRB rather than help me through the dense, slippery shiggy but my saving grace, Octo was just behind me to help each other through the slippery parts. But not long before our Knight In Shining Armour, Thermal, caught us up (and he was walking !!... No wonder he has such a small arse – have you seen how fast this guy can walk!) & he kindly aided both Octo & I down the mega slippery, mossy drains.

At this point we caught up with the FRB’s who were lost in the shiggy. Again not sure why as there was a lot of shredded paper (not from primary schools) however I think I heard a Hopeless grunt of ‘this isn’t the usual way, normally we go down the road’. More shiggy, up & over the bridge, then out onto a back road to the rejoin, then a long, flat and pleasant run into to A.

Really enjoyable run, not too long, not too steep, lots of shiggy and good running ! Well done and thank you lots Gaza (and no we are not renaming you!!)

Showers, cold beers, hot pizza & free T-shirts made a brilliant LSW night… oh yeh, & 1,000 DD’s !!! ?

Down Downs by Indy

The Hare - Gary Glitter....'Fab' run! Well thought out!! Great scenery and memories..!! (read further below!).... kept the pack 'on their toes!'... so to speak!!!

GG - markings galore with shredded paper / chalk and pink & red ribbon!... Red for 'off trail'... pink for you are 'on'!

GG - So was the pink colour cause u are a 'gay' hasher?? Nope.... 'just thought more colourful'!

GG - his markings on shiggy R trail caused some 'of the intelligentsia? amongst the hashers' at different times to wander around and around the same area until trail was found.... testing night eyesight??!!

Hopeless / Hannah Montana / Bubbledock / Indy - the 'intelligentsia'...

HM - part of the 'intelligentsia' putting an arrow on a tree that pointed in the wrong direction!.... to the highway and away from true trail...

Bibbledock - had enough of 'treasure hunting' so when he 'hit the road!'.. he just kept running along it..!!....

GG - setting the run past the lovely old boat pier! Thanks!... recollections of the memorable LSW 1761 Hash / Bash on 10/11/10 swamped me..!! It was Catch of the Day and Comes In My Tunnel's run.... After 4 hours on trail, good ole BOF had not appeared at bash even to pick up his bag!! No phone but no pick up when called!!... so after the bash CIMT and Macau Drunk (COTD having left for a flight!) went back on trail to look for BOF! .... Despite their gallant effort BOF not found on trail...Where had he gone to? Read Gobi Lo's account below....

I heard that Virgin Mary was holding on to Shitler's hand the entire time downhill but I missed the romantic link-up, having just reached the open check at Tung Chung Road right after them (they did the wimps trail). It was here at this check that BOF got terribly lost after 3 hours on the hill and he eventually made his way to the police station to get help. The trail then took a left on the road into the village where we had to face wild village dogs, yet another test of courage and fortitude.

The next stretch here was actually quite pleasant except for the feint and sporadic arrow markings. Sure, the arrows were big, but what is the point when you couldn't see them unless you were standing two feet away? Turns out that the hare ran out of chalk and was scratching the arrows into the path using stones… CIMT should be re-named: Come Into My Caveman Tunnel.

Once out of the village, a sharp left took us into Yat Tung Estate and eventually into Ma Wan Chung, and on home to the pier. On on was a scrumptious seafood feast right by the pier but BOF was strikingly absent. However that is another story altogether, for by the time he was found I was already in bed. Let's just say, despite the numerous frantic phone calls, expensive taxi rides and missed ferries to Lamma (this one's for you Ruggero), everyone made it home ok

Comes Up the Rear - running around like a headless chicken!! so yours truly was in front of him... then behind... then in front!

CUTR - causing yours truly to miss the W/R split.... so R there I went...!!

Freewheel - no trouble spotting the R/W split....

Thermal Duck - a 'Knight in Shining Armour' helping the damsels (Lost In Translation and Octo) through mossy trails, rocky trails and spider infested areas...

Parky / Park'n Shop - Out for an hour on 'mostly' the Wimps trail...

GG - Fab run report from the week before, telling us all about the new fab Garmin.... 'Can tell his inside leg measurements'???!!!

Gary Glitter - wants a name change to 'Garmin Man'!! Answer is 'No way, Man!'

Hopeless - now has 2 more runs after attending the LSW reunion in Portsmouth UK!

Hopeless - his son also in attendance at LSW Reunion..... his name 'Son Of God'!! And guess who named him???

Hopeless / Bubbles - Hopeless has his sights set on his 1000th LSW Run... now on 946... Bubbles 927... 'BD is toast!' says Hopeless

Hopeless - Guess who 'won' both of the Reunion hashes, although there is 'no racing on the hash'.... Yep!! The father of 'Son of God' himself!!
