The Vodie Run

Tonight’s hash caused more excitement than normal for myself & Indy. Not for the pre run beers on the ferry over (which turned out not such a good idea, right JC?), nor for the fantastic run we knew MD would have in store for us, not even the fact that we would be seeing the lovely Barbie tonight.. none of the above.. it’s all about the CHEAP VODIE ! For those that do not know, Lamma has cheap booze, even Brother Anus was in on the act (under strict instructions from Mother Teresa ‘buy as much cheap bourbon as you can carry’). So with the vodie, wine & jam (yes even the jam is cheaper in Lamma) safely purchased, it was off to A at the usual sitting out area but something was different. It was very bright and open (still 5000 mozzies though). This was due to the two large tree’s that resided in this park had been brought down by Typhoon Mang Khut.

As normal, Lost in Space was first there along with Barbie & her mozzie spray, followed by returning visitor, Klingon and a few local French Lamma residents. As the pack assembled waiting for lastminute.com Indy & CFF, the hare briefed us on the run, totally omitting the shiggy fest he had in store for us (Hannah Montana – this was shiggy!) and we were off.

Back through the village, left on the second main road (this must be what the local’s call a main road in Lamma) to the first check. CFF off left, JC started going right but when he saw Hopeless going straight, he followed him, along with the rest of us sheep. So with the first check not being marked, how could Lost in Space live up to his name and come in DFL, instead he about turned and was FRB for the first time!

The first 3km really kept the pack together with the long checks & check backs then we hit the shiggy. As Hopeless said ‘ it’s easy for the wee folk but not the big buggers’. Bashing our way through the dense shiggy, getting pricked left, right and centre – and not in a good sense of pricking, my head torch got yanked off by said big huge prick. JC & I fumbling around, again not in the good sense of fumbling, we managed to rescue my torch and it was back to bashing. Then another said prick, caught my bra clip & managed to unclip it – AGAIN not in a good sense of unclipping of the bra! So as I jiggled & bashed my way through all the Lamma pricks, we eventually got onto a road (possibly another Lamma main Road) to a check but thankfully CFF & Poledancer had marked all the checks from here on in. Winding back through the villages, a few times JC & I thought we had lost trail so about turned to find Hopeless saying ‘What the F are you two doing, just keep going’, so we did, all the way back to the ferry pier then stupidly back out on the out trail (I blame JC for this) but fortunately Hopeless reined us back in and back to A for cold beer & delicious pizza.

Due to Lamma ferry times, some of us with jobs & some without, headed for the 9.30 but not before Indy instructed Hopeless to open the circle as she fled to the vodie shop….

Thanks to Macau Drunk & Barbie, really enjoyed the run (except the bra wrenching shiggy) & the pizza, but an even bigger thanks from myself, Indy & Mother Teresa for cheap booze as we chant ‘More Lamma Runs’
