A good number of runners braced the cold weather to trudge up to the unusual A location at Wong Chuk Hang. Indy and Octo we’re having discussions about how tough the run would be Octo was skeptical because Hannah Montana was unrestrained today and setting the run on his own without a cold hare to reason with him. However our fears were allayed when we saw that there would be one wimps at 6km and one Rambo run at about 8km. Also HM said that there was no shiggy and it was easy. Though there was some elevation but not as bad as last time.

So off we ran and we were running down the street past the bus terminus and towards the waterfront. Then a bit of an urban run and we thought this is not too bad. We started up some slope maintenance stairs and thought well if the elevation is like this there’s no problem. The urban run cleverly wrapped back around to Wong Chuk Hang and next to the soccer pitches. Then a clever check where most of the runners were tricked and running around madly, but actually the trail was leading us to run the usual footbridge across Wong Chuk Hang Road. Hopeless had run ahead and had not returned so we guessed that’s where it went, then the trail went into the country park through some ‘non-shiggy’ it was a bit confusing but we thought maybe it’s just a Little then it’s trail... however no! the ‘non-shiggy’ turned into a mountain we were going up and up through dirt tracks and some extremely high steps naturally formed from rock that required flexibility to reach and step and for the shorter runners they needed to semi climb up. Past bushes and branches that scratched Octo as well as some low hanging branches that we had to duck under. At some point Ruggero lost the Rambo trail and ran somehow back to the wimps and did that trail as well. In the meantime Bobbledick had arrived late and was running along the trail when he heard a plea for help by Indy who was trying to navigate the non-shiggy trail in the dark with bad eyesight. Octo ran into Tight Lips and were both able to help each other navigate through the virgin ‘non-shiggy’ down hill rubbish and branches trail that led back to Wong Chuk Hang Road and back to A. Great and interesting ‘non-shiggy’ trail except for those with bad eyesight and can’t see well in the dark for all the ‘non-shiggy’ on trail. Back at the A there were some very cold hashers, no showers but lots and lots of beer.

Down downs by Indy

The Hare - Hannah Montana....before the run HM says...'It is a pretty easy run, mostly on trails, little to NO shiggy and elevation is 150 m....'!!

Indy to self....'Hmm....sounds (too) pretty easy peasy compared to a typical HM run!'

HM - So hashers, what did you think of the run? Not enough shiggy / elevation / rocks etc..... great 'run'!!

HM - And what is shiggy to you? 'When u need to cut through bush / shrub/ trees with a hacksaw to mark a trail...!!'.....Ah hah!! and therein lies the difference in translation!!!

Bubbleduck- Yours truly Indy came across BD wandering around 'non - shiggy' crouched over looking everywhere for flour! directionally / eyesight challenged?

BD - later on 'non-shiggy' upwards trail losing markings ...finally realising his big feet kept stepping on them!!

BD - 'You must give a DD to HM...what was that about NO shiggy?'!!

Macau Drunk (in absentia Poon Tang) - getting lost on Rambo trail following false marking so went round R again!!

Screwtop / Pole Dancer - amazingly still talking / laughing and running together after completing their house (flat!) renovations!

Screwtop - Pole Dancer had to send her out to 'work' on Lockhart Road to pay for the renovations.....

Pole Dancer - As u were 'at home' why didn't you go to 'work' at Lockhart Road????......'

Poon Tang / Wai Chee Kok - also renovated his flat together....but she has pissed off to the US for work!

Octo - on reccie for Ozzie Day Run fell down towards a ditch 'very gracefully'...so she thought?? .....

Octo - despite being shaken / winded and with cuts still did the R trail......

Rooted - winning the AVOHK series in her cat!

Hopeless - out there doing the Gurkha race ......

Hopeless - 'So Hopeless! Today's run is the 40th LSW Anniversary Run.....Run No 1 on 17 Jan 1979! Amazingly you missed that date??......! Didn't the ping counter go off on your fridge?'

Hopeless - 'will 'formally' celebrate the 40th Run on the CNY public holiday run!'

Hopeless - previously set the 25th / 30th / 35th Anniversary runs!

Returnee - Bibbledock ...welcome back after all your travels! Hopeless is delighted to see you back!

HM - his previous Pacific Place Mt Cameron / fenced / bougainvillea Run is immortalised in LSW memory!....

Sticky Sex Toy - was HM's co-hare but denies having anything to do with the trail.......

Bobbleduck / Creme Brulee / Hopeless / Indy/ Macau Drunk / Octo - attendees on that run!

HM - was lovely running through the rat-infested Aberdeen waterfront!!...real live big rats!!

Hopeless to HM - whilst sitting around after laying trail and drinking cases of beer, he was so cold that Hopeless sold him Hash Stash....note the beanie!!

HM - thanks for setting such a 'non-shiggy' interesting / great hash run!! followed by a great bash!

And the world's most famous hash song was sung by HM....
