Cheung Sha Wan Hares - Poledancer & Screwtop LIT FB photos Was this Poledancers ‘Celebration’ or ‘Elevation’ Run ? To help Frank the Plank celebrate his 77th (yes, he is actually 77 years young today!), emergency hare (thank you) Poledancer also celebrating a new job, set a stonker of a W (6k), R (8k) & SR (10k) run with Screwtop’s assistance. The hares, obviously expecting the pack to be out for a long time, were all wrapped up in the winter woolies, gave the 3 optional run briefing with the promise of extra cold beer on return which Oh Shit was already testing the temperature of with a pre run Tsing Tao. CFF & Octo lead the pack out of Cheung Sha Wan Sports Ground to the first Check where local knowledge Hopeless goes straight for true trail which repeated on the next two Checks. However the hares did fool him on the next Check, where, dodging the traffic, he went straight for the steps on the other side, CFF went left and CUTR took right but just ‘forgot’ to call trail. So, with the pack milling around until CFF follows CUTR, and calls the pack on down the hill, over the bridge and back up the other side. Myself, Blow My Tits and a few other opted for missing out the bridge and ran across the main road. And this is where the elevation began. Up through the temple, lots of steps and trail up to the split. R’s go straight up the hill, W & SR’s go right onto a very enjoyable contour path. I opted for SR with JC (Jonathon Cross, not Jesus Christ) & Brother Anus. Following the path along for 1km or so, we nearly missed the split as the hare had a huge LSW in flour which I thought was OnOn but thankfully JC stopped and called me back saying this is the split. The L was to point S up and W straight. The trail was very well marked up, up & up through the shiggy then we slipped and slid all the way down the shiggy. We spent more time on our arses than we did on our feet. Out the shiggy, JC & I enjoyed a long stretch on the contour path all the way round to the rejoin. Then downhill all the way back to civilization and back into A where there was definitely lots of cold beer. Really enjoyed the SR run – thanks to the hares ! OnOn to the bash with the flowery backdrop just for birthday boy Frank the Plank who very generously treated us all to great food (thank you WCK & SST for great ordering) and a ton of cold beers !
