Wong Chuk Hang Hares - Burning Lust & Rooted Run number 2200 may have gotten the tee shirt but 2201 had the controversy, skullduggery and subterfuge of a good conspiracy. Think JFK with Hill #2 taking The place of the grassy knoll, and yours truly as Chief Justice Earl Warren. I think Indy could be JFK. Use your imagination. You have to have an idea of what you’re in for on an LSW run when to get to A you must walk down three flights of stairs, over five feet and then up another three flights of stairs. What a brilliant A on the roof top of a cook foods centre. All the employees come up there for their cigarette break, ugh ugh. The pre pre briefings were enough to scare anyone. As I arrived Rooted was encouraging Parky and Park and Shop to not even bother as it was way to treacherous of a trail. Octo was advised to use a headlamp not a torch because enroute shiggy would require the use of all hands and legs at the same time. Wow, I’m scared. I think Freewheel was as well. The actual briefing was not much better. Although marked as W and R it was really a R and Monkey R as in only monkeys would be crazy enough to try. A second split was just a distance R. I didn’t come out to sit on the bench so despite all warnings I decided to give it a go. So off the pack went starting out on surface streets. And up to the Grantham Hospital. As the hospital would not be needed till after the hash, we went back down to surface streets and entered the dreaded shiggy at The Rock Carvings at Wong Chuk Hang. And to the R, monkey R split. I of course opted for the R or as it was marked W but meant R. So my trail went up the completely broken concrete stairs with fallen trees and bush blocking the way. It then switched over to a good shiggy climb. Trail was well marked by shredded paper but it wasn’t the place to have your torch fail. After a whole bunch of huffing and puffing I reached Lady Clementi’s Ride which is a nice way of saying “the Catchwater”. Rejoin at the ride and Hasher Elaine met me from the monkey R and trail proceeded along the catch water. Not bad thought I, the shiggy behind me an an easy catch water. Think again... As I was having a nice leisure stroll, I see a torch up on a hill coming down. And then drats, an arrow pointing into more shiggy. A second torch appeared and after some calling out it appears that Macao Drunk and Hasher Elaine were mired in the shiggy and needed help out. So I waved my torch and after some more yelling both made it back to the trail. Macao drunk easily convinced me -not difficult- that this shiggy was impenetrable and should not be attempted. So the three of us blasted through some T s and found trail again. Which brings us to our protagonist the always tardy Indy. Apparently Indy was close enough to hear all the yelling but not close enough to join in our short cutting. So when she reached Hill #2 otherwise known as Bennet’s Hill she went up by herself on a trail that Macao Drunk gave up on, possibly never to be seen again. Second split was missed altogether and then a quite treacherous shiggy down. It started as a very rocky trail with large drops and turned into a crawl from one piece of toilet paper to another in the thick bush. The L hotel shined as a false beacon as a fifty foot drop would be required to reach it. Finally I found a stair case with the help of Gin and Vomit. Even the stair case was treacherous. Geez. City streets and on in. So to the bash and no Indy. What to do..... Send in Cums Up The Rear to cum up Indy’s Rear and bring her back to A. So back to A she arrived beside herself that the hares would send wimps up Hill #2. Rooted retorted that this run was not for wimps but only Rambos and monkey Rambos. And on it went... Nice Shiggy Hares! But not quite to WALOB standards as no compression socks were destroyed on Monkey Rambo Run #1. Will there be a #2???? Down Downs by Indy The Hares - Burning Lust / Rooted... what did u think of the 'run'?? Not enough shiggy / not enough steep hills / too many markings / not long enough.... not enough blood was shed!!! etc BL / Rooted - so as trash stated.... there is a Rambo and a Rambo Monkeys? is there a wimps?? Rooted - said that ' actually there is NO wimps trail..... there is a rambo called Rambo and a super rambo called the Monkey Trail... there is NO wimps.... one of the trails will be marked as a wimps trail but it really is not, so if too much shiggy or too difficult then just turn back and run back to A!! And there are 2 splits!'... Park'N' Shop / Parky - was all too much for them to take in so they did a walk around town taking in the sights of downtown Wong Chuk Hang... and then back to A at 'Beer o'clock!' Park'N'Shop - of course I would have tried the MR / 'Wimps' trail.... except (luckily) for my bad knee.....?? Free Wheel - got to the Monkey Rambos / Rambos.. marked as 'Wimps' / Rambos (or was it the other way round?) split.... took one look at the hill it was going up and retraced his steps.. Free Wheel - made that decision without even going up steps to the real shiggy thorny section... Lost In Planet Space / Octo / Gin N Vomit / Yours truly Indy - at different times, all battled up and up the MR / 'Wimps' trail/crumbling steps through the thorns and shiggy glad to finally get to the catchwater!! Indy - thinks 'So far so good! no need to turn back on the MR / 'W' trail.....' Octo / Indy - at separate times again hearing the wild snorting boar very close to up shiggy trail...... Parky to drink for the wild boar! Lost In Planet - along catchwater was heard calling in the distance..... but where had u gone to?? Rooted / BL - so what was that very very shiggy steep second hill about? Rooted - The second hill which you never told us about at briefing....... was still the 'Rambos/ wimps' trail? So at briefing the instruction was 'turn back to get to A when shiggy is too deep or cannot follow??' so on second hill in the middle of extreme shiggy very high Aberdeen Reservoir (I assume?) there were no other markings/known shortcuts to follow'....????? (and no taxis to catch in extreme shiggy!!) So go back to A from there??? Que??... Macau Drunk - (in absentia).... went up the second hill but lost markings badly, clothing cut to ribbons, with blood streaming and off trail decided to turn back...... MD / Lost in P / Elaine - back at beginning of second hill they ran on trail (but not on markings!!) and with MD's innate sense of direction joined the marked hash trail VERY quickly.... lucky them! BL / Rooted - 'So why didn't you set Macau Drunk's trail as the Wimps trail?' With glazed eyes BL thought about it and finally answered... 'Dunno... but actually we set runs for the rambos and super R's....' Rooted - Amazing!!... Here's to the days when you used to hate shiggy even just out of Central cause u would trip over it and always do the wimps.... the Po Sham Trail is well remembered!! so......??? Lost in Planet / Octo - parts of tonight's trail was like your fondly named WALOB hash....... to which was heard 'What is a Walob Run? (What A Load Of Bollocks!) Lost In Space/ Octo - now onto WALOB 6?? or 7?? Double Rambo hashers - Hannah Montana/ Comes Up the Rear / Vibrator Vibrator - after a slow month back into running fit condition! The hares - so who reccied ? who set the trail ?... Says Rooted very quickly 'We both reccied, BL set it all... so that's why there were no markings at the start !' Rooted - stayed home to make the mince pies to appease the shiggied hashers as promised in the trash..... CUTR - A real Knight In Shining Armour (KISA).... instead of going for shower straight away, came back up the steep shiggy crumbly downhill to check that yours truly was ok.... Octo - 'He left me at showers to choose to go check on you!' Awwwww.... Lost In Planet - thanks for being best beer b*tch..... (of the night!) The Hares - thanks for setting such an 'interesting.. (errrr challenging!!) trail!! and for the mince pies...... To all LSW hares - we greatly and muchly appreciate you all setting runs!!... but please take into account that LSW is for all hashers who want to attend and set trails accordingly..... not just for the FRB's.....
