The Run: Birthday hares had dressed up to the nines for their run today. Nice summer dresses billowed in the wind as hashes gathered outside Ocean Park MTR Exit C, in their scraggy hash gear ad smelly running shoes. An A to B run, speculation rode on Deep Water Bay vs. Repulse Bay as B… the ”Chinese Bash” causing some confusion.. Repulse Bay is only pizza right?! Off we went up to the main road for Aberdeen Tunnel, and Check, right and down, and several Checks to take us through the village at the bottom of Shouson Hill. CUTR was first out of the wrecked village and a Check on Nam Fung Road. Here the pack scattered left and right, on both sides of the road, before we found trail into shaggy. SHIGGY? We were promised no shaggy and minimal cli, but up w went to intercept the trail below the catchwater that comes out at Sir Cecil’s Ride, and back onto Nam Fung Road. Some local knowledge solved the Check / Back combo to go down Deep Water Bay Road and the split. Wimps turning left at the 3.5km marker, and Rambos then off zig zagging around Shouson Hill Road, to come out by the HK Country Club. Shunt along the waterfront to re-join Wimps at Deep Water Bay and then another long coastal path all the way into the finish at the end of the beach in Repulse Bay. Well marked trail, all Checks in the first section of trail for a 7.8km Rambo and 6.5km Wimps, fine for a hot summer’s night.
