Before we even start we had to climb 400 steps, or that’s what it felt like. It least that means less steps on the run I thought…..Little did I know Even before I arrived, I got animal infestation with 6 or 7 mosquito bites and other animals seen on trail – that’s going to make you read on isn’t it. Malcom looked a little nervous and liked to point out that he was a virgin hash setter but quite proud of his 25 runs

It seemed super organised with ‘Ivana Nucock’ wanting to pay hash cash before the run which was refused by hash cash, much to the dismay of Hopeless. Ivana nucock also liked to show off her ‘dog toy’

It looked like we might lose people before we started with 2 ‘sweaty people’ changing in a different changing room, Poon Tang and Burning lust. The pre- run talk was very detailed and long with lots of marking to show us but was extremely clear – do not follow LH 4 markings and a special one for Burning lust who must have short cutted last week. NOBL (no short cutting).

We were not told how long the Wimps or Rambos were but probably a good idea since Malcom couldn’t say those words, saying Wimbos and Ramps instead so perhaps the numbers would have been wrong.

It was an excellent trail, well marked (well it should be after 8 recce’s and 5-7 hours to set – different stories on that one as the night went on.) It was a very hot night so having to climb mount Everest with steps was a mental challenge for some who complained on trail. Hopeless did mention to hash cash and I that we could short cut and go up the lift at one point….more fool us for not doing so as my knee is still painful. Cupid stunt wasn’t as foolish and proud of the fact he did go in the lift. It was a long way to the split. Lost in translation not sure which way to go, wimps or rambos so waited for hopeless and decided on wimps. Think she heard about the dreaded ‘S’ on trail. Was that snake sign or steps, I’m not sure.

Malcom did well to keep the pack together, with lots of check backs. We lost trail in a park at one point and that is when I got to my psychological limit….I saw cheesy flying fox walking. No way I thought. Phew, he was just pausing to find trail. Quite a few went up some steps including pole dancer, CFF and Wai Chee Kok with others but were too fast for me to see, the theory of the missing trail was the caretaker washed away the markings (oh that old chestnut of a story) so myself, Burning lust, Octopussy, and Rooted (not sure who else) lost the front runners but we didn’t hear the onon calls (did they call we wonder?). Octopussy was extremely positive that we had to go up the steps and that kept me going, thankfully to find trail again. More steps and more steps and more steps. Sign for snake but thankfully none seen, hornets seen and also rats….but as usual I go blindly on without seeing anything.

I had a blissful short moment, going through the MTR aircon. It was wonderful for 2 seconds until I realised that meant I would have to climb the steps AGAIN. AAARRRGGG. Over taken by South side hash toy and Hanna Montana who seemed set on finishing and forged ahead.

Indi blaming cheesy flying fox somehow on trail before trail started?! She explained it 3 times to me and I still don’t understand On to the food and people arrived from different directions…Malcom obviously didn’t mark this bit.

I sat next to Jonathan and this was his 3rd LSW hash. Not put off by last weeks run and said he would be coming again. He obviously likes steps!

Just before the down downs, Indi went to change top and Wei Chee made the great escape Malcom also went missing. What’s going on hey guys.

I wondered how many cruise comments might come from Indi. To my surprise there was only 1 but she did like to say how she had missed a few weeks. I think she was waiting for people to ask her why she had been away so long.
