Lots of excitement for this week’s run, tagged as the “Vodka Buying Run”. Not least for Indy (2 litre bottles of Azerbaijan’s finest vodka at $48 each), also Screw Top was seen exiting the bottle shop, clutching spirits and wine, along with Lost In Translation (American vodka and Portuguese vino blanco).

New Lamma resident Randy Von Fokker strolled into the temple area, his bare chest immediately attacked by the entire population of Lamma’s mosquitoes, who seemed to know the hash was coming to that particular spot this evening. Guest appearance by Lemondrop, who I never saw after the first Check, same as Breon! Macau Drunk advised usual trail markings, around 5km and 7km options and “some shiggy”. Then “the usual way, turn right at HSBC”… which meant CCF, Gobi Lo, and a few others shot past the bank before realizing Hopeless and Octopussy were on trail at the previous junction.. to the first Check, followed by another local resident and longtime returnee Haggis Humper and his wife Rawhide of WH3 fame.

Lemondrop shot past, as did CCF onto the 2nd Check. CCF goes left, taking one for the team I go right and…. Damn… flour “T”. Get back to the Check to find everyone disappeared into the village, and Rawhide wondering why the Check isn’t marked. Next Check not marked too well, a “?” had me opting right…. Missed the “T”… faffed about… back to the Check, to see Rawhide yet again, as vague calling could be heard in the distance.

Then 90% of my run was all alone…. Winding back and fore on Lamma’s mountain bike trails, run well marked, Macau Drunk getting lucky with the weather. Just as I hit the W/R split I found Randy Von Fokker and Haggis pondering their options. “He’s going to the end of the path where the power line goes off into the sea, same as our RS2H3 hash” I told Haggis. “Stuff that!” was his reply as the two men with local knowledge immediately turned left and headed back towards the end of the run. Lots of spiders and jaggy triffids to deal with before the path though, and a nice left turn along the waterfront.

Back on the tarmac I could pick up a (slight) bit of speed heading back to YSW and The Bucket and some blizzard cold beers, with Bobbledick as the usual late entrant to the hash run, coming in quite a while after the rest of the pack, even Indy.

On to The Bombay for a slap up Indian feast.

Indy – on W trail did not follow chalk and ended up ensnared by cobwebs after cobwebs!!...took a while to work out was the wrong trail……Drrrrrr!!

Macau Drunk – the cobwebs were reminiscent of when Sholto had changed true trail to no trail full of cobwebs…..many years ago…….!

Bobblemouth – asking all LSW hashers if they had asked ‘himself- The Laird of Lamma’ if they had permission to hash on his island…..

R v F – appeared at run as thought would be poor form not to since he now lived on ‘Paradise Island’!……

MD – How come one marking to turn corner was on wrong corner….? …then repeated 2 more times….But at least we got to see inside Lammarites lounge rooms!!!

Voddie shoppers – Lost In Translation (for Crackpot) / Indy

Haggis DD – When on LSW many moons ago…he was declared to be the child of Bobbledick and Motormouth……and was thus named ‘ Bobblemouth’!! He was apparently promised to change the name bits at a later date….

Hopeless as acting RA – duly renamed Bobblemouth….as MOTORDICK!!!!!!!
