Kennedy Town Hare - Freewheel Write-up - Macau Drunk LIT's FB photos After a quick briefing - equal amount of shiggy for wimps and rambos -25 of us set off into the 35° heat. Through the bus terminus and the other LSW sitting out area to the first wimp/rambo split at exit B on Rock Hill St. Surprised there weren't down downs for those who did the wimps after only 200m running/walking. The split worked quite well 'cos the right arrow meant immediate right - not in one metre's time on the road but straight up the ladder for a detour up the slope maintenance path before rejoining the wimps. On up the back streets and steps to Pokfulam Rd opposite the petrol station The underpasses were viewed as unnecessary as some pre-emptive checking had Hopeless lead a group over the road during rush hour traffic to the path behind the petrol station. Teeny Weeny was seen running up the road towards Pokfulam Rd. playground to check behind there. It took a while before anyone went down Pokfield road to follow trail normally - all the way back to the bottom of the hill then across Smithfield and back up the steps and narrow road past the Chiu Yuen Cemetery to the check on Mt Davis Rd. It wasn't really a check because chalk went right down Mt Davis road, but people were doing a check anyway which held some of the pack up for a surprisingly long time. About 300m down Mt Davis road there was a CB on the lamppost where Mt Davis Rd splits intp two, with the right leg going up to the reservoir. The front of the pack went up there but returned with no trail found. So it was back up Mt Davis road to the original non-check until someone had second thoughts as to whether the lamppost said CB rather than O something. So we followed Cheesy to reconfirm and indeed it was a CB, so the reservoir road was tried once again and lo it was on. The trail behind the reservoir was false as was the route down to Victoria road so it was Mt Davis Path into the shiggy to emerge on the other end of Mt Davis Path going up to the youth hostel. A detour through some abandoned buildings and shiggy brought us back onto the road and the gentle run back down the hill overlooking Pokfulam Rd before the final ascent of Mt Davis. At the top - I don't even know where we started back down again 'cos it was overgrown with bamboo and it stayed like that for the next 20mins until we emerged near the end of Forbes street for the quick on home to exit A An excellent run that was more arduous than expected but brought the pack together lots and had people guessing at every check. The basho was at the cooked food market with the 'eat anything' table and the 'slightly circumspect' tables doing their own ordering.
