First LSW run of 2017 and tonight’s run was billed as a joint Bobbledick/TV Tits run with a mystery B location at TV Tits place. Notorious for his lack of markings, not taking enough flour with him on trail and dubious distance estimations all meant an A to B run with Bobbledick as the Hare could only spell trouble…..

So the pack gathered at the entrance of the Sports Centre and true to time at 7.15pm the briefing was given. The Rambo route did sound great c. 9km with talk of ancient artefacts on trail, abandoned villages and riverbeds…… but with my own knowledge of the Hare’s previous runs and knowing 9km was more like 12km it was probably best to act sensibly in my condition, having already thrown caution to the wind on Gobi Lo’s run a couple of weeks ago being lured in by the briefing of ‘fun’ shiggy on the Rambos, I decided today it was Wimps trail for me!

Then we were away with a tour of the villages and houses of Sai Kung and all the dogs barking at the pack of runners heading onto their territory. Plenty of checks and sporadic markings kept the pack together until the split at about 2.5km. Rambos left and Wimps right, without hesitation it was off to the right with a pack of other sensible forewarned hashers, a decision we all were glad of later as we sat relaxing on TV Tits roof terrace with no sign of even the front running Rambos anywhere in sight!

A steep climb up the road and then a an open check with the true trail actually being before the check, down the steps and into another village which I think was where the angry woman was who shouting a torrent of abuse at us as we ran past lucky I don’t understand Cantonese but I was informed by Octo she thought we were all Burglars trying to rob them. Not really the best disguised burglars I would say, with headlamps and shouting ‘Trail’! Then a check into some shiggy winding its way through the trees until we eventually came out onto the road to find the Hare kindly serving everyone some red wine and wishing us a Happy New Year, seems Bobbledick is a changed man for 2017! Then it was a steady on home with a complete lack of markings which meant we still got lost on the On Home but eventually we arrived at B a nice 6.7km trail and being the first runners back first dibs on the hot shower! Tv Tits was already busy with the bbq and a delicious spread was served. Still no sign of the Rambos and a slight guilt about tucking into the food before they were even back but that soon passed and we got stuck into the tasty curry and sausages.

What seemed like about 3 hours later the Rambos finally arrived! Mutterings of bad markings, getting lost and other dummyspits ensued upon arrival of the Rambo pack……

A great spread of food thanks to TV Tits and Wrong Channel. Perhaps some people enjoyed the food a bit too much….. Wanchai W*nker !
