Yung Shue Wan

Lamma is always a blast. Runs here are predictably good hash events! Shiggy, spectacular views, fast trails, dogs (always the dogs!) and those long check backs that go to Cheung Chau.....even check backs where you need a navigator to return to trail...... man! Ruggero does monstrous check backs. So, there we were, another A 2 A, Ruggero 2 Ruggero! Fab venue, fab views and even fabber access to Lamma's CBD!

Most arrived by ferry, 18 in all at the run, but 4 of us took the scenic route by yacht from Hebe Haven, just managing to drop the hook and beetle up to the start line for 1900 local, beaten only by Gobi Lo who ran a solo event earlier due to training requirements for the next trans- Siberian megathon!

So, briefing given, the hare fired his metaphoric gun and the pack (some even pre-stretched!) began their assault on Lamma. Wanchai W@nker, competition gene truly awake, led with his signature flashing red beacon paving the way over shouts of trail and even an On On from Indy as she gathered a pace to match. Dr Evil, nursing new knees of dubious quality, pole danced at the back, balancing on the latest carbon ski pole offerings - good for shiggy, bad on mud! 'Any Dog'll Do' kept the mid pack tight and an early CB brought the rear ends into a head on with the pseudo FRB's. Cecilia (Hash 2000 Taipei), a classic mix of French and Irish and as tasty as an choco milkshake, spurred the W@nka into a frenzy of barging and a commanding call to relead after discovering his first T, nearly 300 kms (sorry metres!) from the check!

By now, a full moon helped those with weaker batteries, and Toilet Spray hedged her bets at yet another check (but if we had chalk, why no mark offs?). Was this because LSW has embraced competitive racing? Does WW have a hidden racing agenda as a trainee FRB?

Suck My Pills sporting a gutsy drive took the vertical shaggy abeam the wind generator in her stride. Ethiopian Hijacker followed and so did Anal Twice. Any Dog'll Do, as nasally challenged as ever, kept his eye on yours truly Lost At Sea, as once again, another striking view of the East Lamma channel hit the retina. Awesome, fab and more fab! At this point FFFM appeared to lose her fuel but let gravity do the job on the gentle descent back into YSW. C*ckhunter, her black lycra one piece diamante with moonlit glistening sweat pushed WW into a judgement call at the next check.... yep, another mammoth one way up in the wrong direction. Another On On was called and Dr Evil, with both his sticks and his new Danish knees, found himself at the head of the pack. Dr Evil smelt a rat at the next check (a deposit from ADWD?) and with careful prediction and for once, intelligent counter marking, paved the way on dog-damaged pavement back to La Maison d' Ruggeros and the ice-cold Heineken verandah! Fab view, fab moon..... Barbie counted us out! She counted us back in bar the 3 later trail enders... Franz, Indy and Bubbleduck!... those past years Trailwalker mates!

The cry was heard! Has the hash forgotten how to use chalk and mark the CB's? Has the need for speed killed off the hash protocol? ' Indy A in her best colloquial oz simply said...'if you have chalk, f*cking use it!'!. ...Hear !! Hear!!

Lamma, yes always, always a blast, was a corker! Salaams to the hares and their kind offerings, and the fab introduction of minced quail and lettuce at Andy's resto (don't tell Indy it wasn't chicken!) and that seaview with that fab boat! tres jolie!. The circle closed a great night..

The hard core stayed on at the 'Kabul Hilton' as another ferry winged a very sweaty LSW back to central and beyond. The moon waxed then waned a little, ..the shiggy settled back to Lamma scrub and Indy, Mad Max, Any Dog'll Do and yours truly Lost At Sea closed the day on a dingy made for 3 back to the boat, to continuing enjoying our Lamma holiday.......
